COVID-19 Update As Of January 7: 518 New Cases, DKI With The Most With 300 Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 283,162 specimens were examined with the result that there were 518 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,265,187 people and 5,494 active cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, January 7.
Today's recovered cases increased by 214 cases, bringing the total to 4,115,572 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 5 people and the total was 144,121 people.
The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 300 cases and a total of 866,631 cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with 60 new cases with a total of 54,560 cases. West Java has 36 new cases and a total of 709,007 cases. Then, Banten with 30 new cases and a total of 132,927 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 77 recovered cases. Followed by Central Sulawesi with an additional 27 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 18 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 18 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 64,980,357.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.12 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,964 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 168,819,593 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 116,114,884 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 1,297,372. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
