Soon Tinder Will Launch The Swipe Matching Feature With Friends

JAKARTA - Tinder is reportedly preparing a new way for users to enjoy a swipe-based dating app with friends, with the new Swipe Party mode.

The new feature was originally discovered by Dutch dating site GratisDatingTips, which got the source code of the Tinder app. Swipe Party will allow Tinder users to swipe with their friends.

Swipe Party will allow users to invite friends to watch them swipe. Looking further in the code, it seems that people will be able to see and hear what is happening during the swipe session.

"Let your friends see and hear you while checking leads," reads one line of code.

Launching TechCrunch, Friday, January 7th, this is a feature that allows people to comment, swipe together, and evaluate potential candidates. There's also a code allowing users who don't have a Tinder account to join by creating a guest account and Joining a party.

Guests will then be asked for their phone number, validate it with a code, then enter their name and date of birth.

The existence of this new feature was also confirmed by a Senior Software Engineer from Tinder, who shared some insights on his LinkedIn page. The code mentioned above can be found in the latest version of the Tinder mobile app, which is likely to be released in the coming months.

Tinder's parent company Match also planned in August last year to introduce audio and video chat features, including group live video, to its dating app over the next 12 to 24 months.

This means that users will see some of these additions starting to appear later this year. These new features will be supported by innovations from Hyperconnect, a Korean social networking company and app maker that is Match's biggest acquisition to date with a value of 1.73 billion US dollars. But this feature fits well with Tinder's recent efforts to become a more interactive and social app, not just a place to swipe profiles.
