Ansan Greeners Extends Asnawi's Contract, Netizen: Hopefully I Can Promote To Caste One

JAKARTA - Ansan Greeners' decision to extend Asnawi Mangkualam's contract has received a positive response from football lovers in Indonesia. The South Korean club is expected to be promoted to the first caste soon.

Ansan officially announced the extension of Asnawi's contract on Thursday, January 6 yesterday. The 22-year-old player's term of service was extended for the next two years.

Ansan's decision to extend the contract was greeted with uproar by lovers of the round skin in the country. They are busy hoping that the club that is currently competing in the K-League 2 caste will immediately level up to the first caste.

"Great. Hopefully the Greeners can be promoted to the first caste. Because apart from improving skills & mentality, Asnawi will appear in the FIFA game," wrote a netizen.

Asnawi's tenure with Ansan Greeners will end in 2023 with an option for an extension. The contract extension that just happened yesterday is considered inseparable from the slick appearance of this Makassar-born player with the Indonesian national team in the AFF Cup which has just been completed.

Asnawi's success abroad seems to have made many football fans want other Indonesian players to follow in the footsteps of the player born on October 4th.

"Hopefully (Primary) Arhan, (Alfeandra) Dewangga, Ricky (Kambuaya) and other Indonesian players who did not participate in AFF like Marselino Ferdinand can go abroad," the netizen continued.

Asnawi and his colleagues in the Indonesian national team just finished undergoing quarantine last Thursday after the AFF Cup. In that event, Indonesia came out as runner-up after losing to Thailand in the final which was held in a two-legged format.

After this event, several Garuda squads are said to have the opportunity to play in Europe and Asia. Players such as Pratama Arhan and Ricky Kambuaya have reportedly been approached by several foreign clubs.
