Ashanty Reportedly Positive For Omicron After Returning From Turkey, This Is What The Ministry Of Health Said
JAKARTA - Singer Ashanty is reported to have tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19 after returning from vacation from Turkey. Reportedly, the results were obtained when undergoing a PCR test and were about to quarantine at the hotel.
Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, explained the news.
"There are indeed Overseas Travelers (PPLN), one of whom is initial A, when the entry test got a positive PCR result for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing quarantine at a quarantine hotel," Nadia told VOI on Friday, January 7, 2022.
"According to the existing procedure, all cases of the PPLN post, we carry out a WGS (Whole Genome Sequencing) examination to confirm the variants," continued Nadia.
The WGS examination was carried out to find out what variant of the virus a person got, whether it was Omicron or not.
"Currently in the process of examining both of them and to localize Omicron, the government has adopted a policy that all positive cases must be isolated in a centralized hospital or Wisma Atlet," concluded Nadia.
It is known that Ashanty went on vacation with his family, including his son-in-law, Atta Halilintar. There he met Atta Halilintar's family and traveled together to several places in Turkey.
Arriving in Jakarta, Ashanty had time to upload an Instagram Story while at Hotel Sahid at 21.00. He wanted to do a PCR test before carrying out a joint quarantine at the hotel.
