5 Out Of 14 People Trapped In OTT In Bekasi Freed, Their Status Is Now Witness
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) released five of the 14 people who had been caught in the arrest operation (OTT) with the Mayor of Beksi Rahmat Effendi on Wednesday, January 5.
The five people are a land broker named Novel; Rahmat Effendi's staff and aide, Bagus Kuncorojati; and Head of Sub-Division of TU Regional Secretariat of Bekasi City Haironi; Director of PT Kota Bintang Rayatri and PT Hanveri Sentosa, Handoyo; and staff from the Department of Industry Agus Murdiansyah. They now have the status of witnesses.
"So far (the five people, ed) the status is still as a witness," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Friday, January 7.
Ali said the status was of course the result of a 1x24 hour examination carried out after the silent operation was carried out. Including, the status of the suspect carried by the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi and eight other people.
"The determination of the parties detained as suspects by the KPK is of course because the results of the examination have found that there are two sufficient preliminary evidences," he said.
As previously reported, the KPK has named Rahmat Effendi or Pepen along with eight other people as suspects in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government.
Pepen with M. Bunyamin who is the Secretary of the Bekasi City Investment Office and PTSP; Head of Kati Sari Village, Mulyadi alias Bayong; Jatisampurna Sub-district Head, Wahyudin; and the Head of the Bekasi City Housing, Settlement and Land Office, Jumhana Lutfi, were named as recipients of bribes.
Meanwhile the Director of PT MAM Energindo, Ali Amril; private company named Lai Bui Min; Director of PT Kota Bintang Rayatri, Suryadi; and the sub-district head of Rawa Lumbu, Makhfud Saifudin, was named the bribe giver.
