KPK: Procurement Of Goods And Services The Classic Mode Of Corruption

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri revealed that the procurement of goods and services is a mode that often occurs and is often found in corruption crimes.

This was conveyed by him after naming the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi as a suspect in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government (Pemkot).

"Corruption in the procurement of goods and services has become a classic mode," said Firli, quoted from the Indonesian KPK's YouTube show, Friday, January 7.

The former deputy for prosecution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that this mode of corruption did involve many people. This is because this imprecise practice occurs from a series of planning, implementation, to supervision.

As previously reported, the KPK named Pepen along with eight other people as suspects after being caught in a red-handed operation (OTT) on Wednesday, January 5.

Pepen with M. Bunyamin who is the Secretary of the Investment Office and PTSP Bekasi City; Head of Kati Sari Village, Mulyadi alias Bayong; Jatisampurna Sub-district Head, Wahyudin; and the Head of the Bekasi City Housing, Settlement and Land Office, Jumhana Lutfi, were named as bribe recipients.

Meanwhile the Director of PT MAM Energindo, Ali Amril; private named Lai Bui Min; Director of PT Kota Bintang Rayatri, Suryadi; and the sub-district head of Rawa Lumbu, Makhfud Saifudin, was named the bribe giver.
