Natural Gas National Vital Object Care Involves Nine Policemen
JAKARTA - In order to maintain the security of the national vital object of natural gas, PT PGN has signed a partnership with nine Polda. This is a form of commitment to maintain business operations in accordance with safe management principles.
The nine Polda are East Java Police, South Sumatra Police, West Java Police, Riau Islands Police, Lampung Police, Metro Jaya Police, Riau Police, North Sumatra, and Banten Police.
"Gas Subholding Infrastructure is a vital national object that needs tight security, because it has a high level of risk and can have an impact on the operation of natural gas distribution to customers," said PGN's Director of Human Resources and Business Support, Beni Syarif Hidayat in an official statement, Thursday, January 6.
In this collaboration, it was agreed that three forms of scope of activities would be coordinated and their implementation synergized. Among other things, activities that are pre-emptive or communication and education, activities that are preventive in nature or preventing security disturbances, and activities that are law enforcement.
This collaboration is also at the same time launching the Integrated Online CCTV Command Center Ditpamobvit Polda. There is CCTV Online at various points of the natural gas infrastructure that is integrated with the Police Obvitas Command Center, so that if an incident or crisis occurs, information, data and handling efforts can be carried out more responsively.
"This collaboration is expected to accelerate coordination between PGN and the Police in handling or investigating when an incident occurs in accordance with applicable regulations. PGN as a State-Owned Enterprise is committed to fully complying with all regulations, especially those related to security regulations," said Beni.
Currently, the PGN Group operates transmission pipelines of more than 5,000 KM that transmit natural gas either by land or by sea. Then it is distributed to various customer sectors through distribution pipelines of more than 5,600 KM which have served more than 600,000 customers in 63 districts/cities. Subsidiaries and affiliates also manage other business infrastructure such as storage and regasification of LNG through FSRU off the coast of Lampung and the Java Sea, LNG Hub in Arun, LNG Filling Station and Cargo Dock, LNG and CNG trucking, CNG mother station, MRS jargas, as well as natural gas control and distribution stations in various regions.
For PGN, this security cooperation will reduce the number of security disturbances, prevent potential security disturbances, and ensure security and patrol assistance for PGN Group operational activities, both through pipelines and non-pipes.
Infrastructure development for the expansion of natural gas services is also ongoing, starting from household gas, retail, industrial, to LNG utilization.
"There are also natural gas trading businesses in the form of operating 16 SPBGs and Mobile Refueling Units (MRU) to convert the use of BBM to BBG for land transportation," added Beni.
"We also thank and give appreciation to the ranks of the Indonesian National Police for their synergistic cooperation in maintaining the security of all operational assets and maintaining the conduciveness of PGN Group's operational activities which in turn can improve the national economy," said Beni.
