PKB Doesn't Want To Talk About Cagub DKI 2024, Still Focuses On Evoking Cak Imin As Candidate
JAKARTA - The term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswesan, will end in nine months. A number of political parties have come up with names that they are likely to carry in the next election for the governor of DKI.
However, this is not the case with PKB. The chairman of the DKI PKB DPW, Hasbiallah Ilyas, admitted that his party has not yet thought about who the figures will carry in the 2024 DKI Pilkada.
"In fact, we haven't thought about the Pilkada yet, it's still a long time," said Hasbiallah when contacted, Thursday, January 6.
Hasbiallah said his party was still focused on welcoming the plan to nominate its general chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar to run as a presidential candidate in the 2014 presidential election.
"DKI PKB is now focusing on working directly with the public to socialize our Ketum to become a presidential candidate in 2024. So, our task is no longer talking about the Pilkada in DKI. We focus on socializing Pak Muhaimin as a presidential candidate for 2024," he said.
According to him, this is important because Muhaimin is a symbol of PKB which is claimed to be the largest Islamic party in Indonesia.
The chairman of the PKB faction of the DKI DPRD said that currently his party is still focusing on overseeing Anies' government programs until October 2022.
Because, according to him, Anies still has a lot of homework to do. The work ranges from transportation programs to flood prevention in the capital city.
"We are also still focused on fixing Jakarta, whose development is still lacking. So, we have not thought about the elections in the future," he added.
