MPR Chair Asks KPK To Take Strict Action On Bekasi Mayor Who Was Affected By OTT
JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to take firm action against the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi who was caught in a sting operation (OTT). Bamsoet encouraged the KPK to reveal the alleged corruption committed by the Golkar Party cadre.
He hopes that the disclosure of the alleged corruption case can be through the results of the investigation and investigation in accordance with the applicable standards.
"If they are proven to have committed a violation, strict action must be taken in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, against the Mayor of Bekasi and the parties involved in the corruption case," said Bamsoet in Jakarta, Thursday, January 6.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party also encouraged the government to periodically coordinate and evaluate the integration of regional officials or leaders.
In addition, Bamsoet assessed that the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) together with the Regional Inspectorate also needed to improve detection and prevention of corruption in each agency.
"Supervision of budget realization in the Regional Apparatus Work Units (SKPD) of each region, accountability and reporting of budget realization must be carried out, so that early efforts can be made to prevent corruption," said Bamsoet.
The KPK is currently still intensively examining the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi and dozens of people who were caught in the red-handed operation (OTT) on Wednesday, January 5.
