Considered Close To Ulama, Sandiaga Uno Is Supported By Ijtima And North Sumatran Islamic Youth Forward For Presidential Election
NORTH SUMATERA - The North Sumatra Ijtima Ulama and Islamic Youth Forum (PII) expressed support for the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno to run in the 2022 presidential election.
The statement of support, which was attended by a number of scholars and Islamic figures, took place at the Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel and Convention, Medan, North Sumatra, Wednesday, January 5.
Said Alwi, who comes from the Talim An-Nur Assembly at Taman Permata Deli Serdang, sees Sandiaga as a person who can be accepted by various circles of society. Sandiaga is considered to have a religious and nationalist nature.
"We see that Sandiaga Uno is also close to scholars, religious leaders, and traditional tribal leaders. We hope that later he can become the glue that we really need," Said Alwi said.
Said Alwi called this declaration an overflow of people's aspirations. He denied this declaration was fabricated.
"If someone says the setting is legal because of their rights, but in fact we will continue throughout the archipelago. Because we see the enthusiasm that exists from various groups, ranging from habib, ulama, to Islamic organizations all support Sandiaga," he said.
A declaration of support also came from the Indonesian Islamic Youth (PII) of North Sumatra. PII North Sumatra representative, Wizdan Fauran Lubis said Sandiaga was able to solve economic problems and community welfare.
"We choose the best character among many good national figures. His choice is Bang Sandi (Sandiaga Uno) because he is able to solve the nation's problems such as economy and welfare," said Wizdan.
The Ijtima Ulama Forum also held a similar declaration of support for Sandiaga Uno in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/11/2021) and in West Java on Wednesday, December 15.
