Two Unscrupulous Police Members Persecute Teenagers In Jatinegara Officially Become Suspects
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit has named two police officers with the initials TP and SS as suspects in the alleged beating of teenagers in East Jakarta.
East Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Ahsanul Muqaffi said, apart from the two police officers, his party also named a civilian with the initials JS as a suspect.
"The three suspects have been determined," Ahsanul told VOI, Thursday, January 6.
Ahsanul said that his party ensnared the three suspects with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
He said that the three of them planned to be questioned as suspects next week. Meanwhile, reports from the TP and SS regarding the destruction of car windows which were allegedly carried out by a group of teenagers who were the trigger for the beatings are still being processed by the police.
"The reports T and S about the broken car windows are still in process," he said.
Previously, it was reported that two members of the National Police were reported for the alleged abuse of two teenagers aged 15 and 18 in the Bidara Cina area, Jatinegara District.
The allegation emerged after someone uploaded a police report and a photo of the victim on Twitter.
"Ask friends on Twitter, help viral the beating of 14-year-old children behind Indomobil, who committed a police officer named Thamrin Pardede & has been reported to PMJ, but there has been no response," wrote the uploader, Thursday, December 23.
The police report stated that the incident occurred on November 11, 2021. The report was received by the East Jakarta Police with registration number LP/B/2006/XI/2021/SPKT/RES.JAKTIM/POLDA METRO JAYA.
