JAKARTA – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani is a guest star in the Deddy Corbuzier Podcast which premiered today. On that occasion, the Minister of Finance mentioned about Deddy Corbuzier's income in a year.

"For Deddy, his income is above Rp. 5 billion, isn't it a year?" he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance's intention in asking this was to check the status of the tax imposed by the magician.

"(A faint answer is heard) It means that you are up 5 percent, you are super rich, Ded," said Sri Mulyani.

The Minister of Finance added that the amount of income earned by Deddy Corbuzier made him the top of the taxpayer pyramid in Indonesia. Not only that, the state treasurer said that only a few people were able to fit into this category.

“Rp 5 billion per year is a huge amount for the average Indonesian. It means that you are in the category of 1 percent of rich people in Indonesia, the top one percent,” he said.

Sri Mulyani revealed that many of the community groups who have assets like Deddy Corbuzier but choose the wrong way in carrying out their obligations to the state.

"Many rich people are getting smarter, he avoids taxes by saving them abroad. If he said he made accounting tricks or tax planning, what should have been paid was 35 percent and then it fell to 10 percent. This is the problem," said the Minister of Finance.

On that occasion, Deddy finally opened his voice about the value of the tax payments he made every year.

"My taxes are big, MM's (billions) of my taxes," he said.

"Yes, thank God, thank you Deddy. As the Minister of Finance, I thank all taxpayers, especially those who are proud like Deddy," said Sri Mulyani.

For information, in the Law on the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP) which was passed last October, it is stipulated that there is a change in rates and an additional layer of personal income tax (PPh) by 35 percent for taxable income above Rp5 billion.

Not only that, the income layer of individuals who are subject to the lowest rate of 5 percent is increased to Rp. 60 million from the previous Rp. 50 million, while the Non-Taxable Income (PTKP) remains the same.
