1 More Person Arrested By KPK, Total Bekasi OTT Arrests Become 13 People Including Mayor Rahmat Effendi

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that another person was arrested and taken to his office after holding a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bekasi, West Java. Thus, the total of all parties caught in the silent operation is 13 people.

"That's right. This afternoon one more person was arrested," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Thursday, January 6.

Even so, Ali did not specify who was arrested later. He only asked the public to be patient because the KPK was working.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Firli Bahuri, revealed that the 13 people were undergoing intensive examination.

"There are 13 people who are currently being questioned intensively," said Firli.

"The investigation is still ongoing, please be patient. We will inform you at the press conference," added the former Deputy for Enforcement.

As previously reported, the KPK conducted an OTT in the Bekasi area, West Java at around 14.00 WIB. During the silent operation, dozens of people were arrested by the anti-corruption commission, including the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi, who is often called Kang Pepen.

In addition, the Bekasi City Government Civil Apparatus (ASN) and the private sector were also arrested. The transactions that occurred during the silent operation were allegedly related to bribes in the procurement of goods and services and the auction of positions.

In this activity, the anti-corruption commission also found money. However, the number has not been further detailed.
