Already Playing In Hollywood, Yayan Ruhian Admits He Just Got Serious About Acting In This Film
JAKARTA - Actor Yayan Ruhian admitted that for the first time he actually did acting in a film. Yayan said when playing in a film, he usually gets more fighting portions. But in Ben & Jody, he had to do some drama scenes.
"This is different from my previous characters, before that it was just fighting. Here I learned acting," said Yayan after the launch of the trailer and poster for the film "Ben & Jody" at Epicentrum XXI, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 6.
The actor in the film John Wick: Chapter 3 also had many discussions with Angga Dwimas Sasongko as the director. At first Yayan was hesitant, worried that he would not be able to play his role as Tubir to the fullest.
"At first I thought I could do it or not, I had a lot of discussions with Mas Angga about his character. Mas Angga also always directs and is always escorted," said the star of The Raid film.
Apart from being a player, Yayan also acts as a match choreographer. He makes different fighting scenes for each character according to the description of each character.
"Each character is made to have a fighting style. Characters from Wanareja Village who are already familiar with self-defense, are certainly different from the fight choreography of Jody (Rio Dewanto), whose story is from the city," Yayan said as quoted by ANTARA.
In the Ben & Jody film, Yayan Ruhian plays Tubir, the main antagonist. He is a thug who dares to kill anyone who disturbs him.
