There Are Already 17 Deputy Minister Seats, Commission II Of The DPR Believes This Will Not Be The Last
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has again added the position of deputy minister in the ranks of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. Most recently, Jokowi issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 114/2021 concerning the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). In Article 2 paragraph (1) of this policy, the Head of State states to add one seat in the structure of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Article 2 paragraph (1) of Presidential Regulation 114/2021 reads, "In leading the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Minister may be assisted by a Deputy Minister in accordance with the appointment of the President".
Of course, after this increase, the government of President Joko Widodo will be fatter in the second period. In total, there are 17 Deputy Minister seats provided.
Jokowi's decision was commented on by the Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPR RI, Luqman Hakim. He believes that the addition of deputy ministerial seats will not stop at the Ministry of Home Affairs even though there are currently 10 vacant Deputy Minister seats.
"My guess is not the last," Luqman told reporters, Thursday, January 6.
However, the PKB politician does not care about the issue of adding the Deputy Minister's seat. However, Luqman questioned Jokowi's reason for adding the Deputy Minister's seat. Because, speculation is growing whether Jokowi adds because he wants to optimize the performance of certain ministries, or just to accommodate certain politics.
"Only Allah and Pak Jokowi know (the purpose of adding the Wamen seat)," said Luqman Hakim. It is known that in mid-December last year, Jokowi also issued Presidential Decree 110/2021 concerning the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), by adding the position of Deputy Minister of Social Affairs to accompany Social Minister Tri Rismaharini.
But to this day, Jokowi has not filled the two deputy minister seats in these two institutions. In total, the number of vacant Wamen seats is 10, out of a total of 17 available seats. The following is a list of 17 deputy ministerial seats in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet:
