Shhh... Investigation Of Alleged Corruption In The Heavy Equipment Rental Case In Bima Is Stopped By The NTB Prosecutor's Office, What's Up?

JAKARTA - Investigation into the alleged corruption case in the heavy equipment rental procurement project in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, for the 2018-2020 budget year, was stopped by the prosecutor's office.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Dedi Irawan, in Mataram, Thursday, explained the reasons for the termination. He said, the case was terminated because there was not enough evidence indicating a criminal act of corruption.

"So the termination of the investigation is in accordance with the procedure," said Dedi, Thursday, January 6, quoted from Antara.

In the process of its investigation, the NTB Prosecutor's Intelligence Team has clarified several parties. Starting from officials at the Bima Regency PUPR Service, as well as the Bima Regency Secretariat.

Initially, this case was traced to the alleged double budget for the same activity. The prosecutor then went to the field to check the location of heavy equipment activities and went to the partner who got the contract.

"So it can be concluded that the heavy equipment rental process has been running properly," he said.

The investigation by the NTB Special Prosecutor's Office Team is a follow-up to reports from community groups. The report was submitted to the NTB Prosecutor's Office in September 2020.

In the report, attached a number of documents related to its dual implementation for one work activity, namely at the Regional Secretariat of Bima Regency and the PUPR Service of Bima Regency.

One of them is budgeting by the Regional Secretariat of Bima Regency, carried out in three years, starting from 2018-2020. The Regional Secretariat of Bima Regency is known to have budgeted for the rental of heavy equipment types of excavators worth Rp. 500 million per year.

However, for the two activities that were carried out simultaneously in the three-year period, the same company won, namely a company with the initials S based in Bima City.

This heavy equipment is used for the same object in road clearing projects as well as river normalization.
