JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has temporarily closed the entrance to citizens from 14 countries in an effort to prevent the spread of the corona virus that causes COVID-19 type SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.529 or Omicron. This provision is stated in the Circular of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 19 Number 1 of 2022 concerning Overseas Travel Health Protocols during the COVID-19 Pandemic which was issued on January 4, 2022. According to the circular, the government temporarily closed the entrance for foreign nationals (WNA) who within 14 days had lived and or visited countries that have confirmed cases of Omicron transmission at the community level, namely South Africa, Botswana, Norway and France. The government has also temporarily closed the entry of citizens from countries or regions that are geographically close to countries with cases of transmission of the Omicron community, namely Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho.
In addition, the government temporarily closed the entrance for foreign nationals who within 14 days had lived and or visited England and Denmark, countries with more than 10,000 cases of corona virus infection with variant B.1.1529. Indonesian citizen (WNI) Those who travel from abroad are allowed to enter the territory of Indonesia by following the strict health protocols set by the government. All overseas travelers, Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals, are required to comply with the health protocols set by the government and show a COVID vaccination card or certificate. -19.WNI and foreign nationals who have not received the COVID-19 vaccination abroad will be vaccinated at a quarantine place upon arrival in Indonesia and undergo a second RT-PCR examination with negative results. Travelers from abroad are required to undergo RT-PCR retest and undergo quarantine at a centralized facility for 7X24 hours. However, citizens who come from countries with cases of Omicron transmission are required to undergo quarantine in a centralized facility for 10X24 hours.
