"The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Gayo Lues Regency noted that as many as 21 houses were damaged, with details of 5 units being heavily damaged and 16 lightly damaged," said Abdul Muhari in his statement, Thursday, January 6.

A total of 21 families temporarily evacuated to a relative's place after the incident. As a result of this incident, there were no reports of injuries.

"After the strong winds subsided, joint officers from BPBD, TNI, Polri and village officials helped the affected families to clean building materials around their homes," he said.

Abdul Muhari said, Tripe Jaya is one of the 11 sub-districts in Gayo Lues with potential in the medium to high category.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast in Tripe Jaya Sub-district today and Friday, January 7, has the potential to be sunny to light rain.

Responding to the peak of the rainy season from this month to February, Abdul Muhari appealed to local governments and the public to remain vigilant and prepared for potential hydrometeorological hazards, such as floods, flash floods, landslides and strong winds.

"The public can see the potential dangers and risks around them through the inaRISK application or weather information from government agencies and BPBD," he said.
