Banten Governor Wahidin Halim's Lawyer Visits The Regional Police To Revoke Reports On Labor Cases Occupying The Work Room

SERANG - Banten Governor's attorney Asep Abdullah Busro returned to the Banten Police to revoke the Banten Governor's report on workers who entered the governor's office.

"The presence of Mr. Asep Busro as the Banten Governor's attorney to follow up on the results of the Banten Governor's meeting with trade unions and labor representatives who are undergoing legal processes at the Banten Police," said Head of Public Relations of Banten Police Kombes Shinto Silitonga in Serang, Banten, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 5th.

Asep Abdullah Busro conveyed that Banten Governor Wahidin Halim had withdrawn the report against workers who entered the governor's office.

"We have known yesterday from the Governor's side with the workers that peace has been reached, a peace agreement has been signed. This was started from the good faith of the workers who came to visit to submit a written apology and apologize directly to the Governor and convey that they also will not repeat his actions again," said Busro.

He said, based on the good faith and sincerity of the workers, the Governor of Banten also responded positively to this and apologized. Subsequently, a peace agreement was signed and the Governor of Banten also had good intentions to stop the legal process.

"Our presence as legal counsel is to follow up on the peace agreement and what the Governor hopes is that the legal process against these seven fellow workers can be stopped and through a 'restorative justice' mechanism," said Asep.

Asep Abdullah Busro also appreciated the steps taken by the Banten Police in handling the case.

"The Governor appreciates all the roles and contributions of the Kapoda of Banten along with his staff from the Dirreskrimum and the Head of Public Relations in order to carry out law enforcement quickly, responsively and to enforce the law against vandals and provide space for the implementation of 'restorative justice'," said Busro.

Meanwhile, the Dirreskrimum of the Banten Police KBP Ade Rahmat Idnal said his party would immediately process the revocation of the Banten governor's report.

"We will immediately proceed based on the National Police Chief Regulation number 8 of 2021 regarding the settlement of cases through the 'restorative justice' route. We will immediately carry out a case title and then we will process the case to be terminated and we will pass it on to the families of each suspect," said Ade Rahmat.

The Secretary General of KSPSI as well as labor attorney Hermanto Ahmad appreciates the Banten Police and hopes that the case will be resolved soon and will not proceed to court.

"We hope today can be completed and everything is done," said Ahmad.
