Funeral Of Poso Terrorist DPO's Body In Palu Witnessed By Family
PALU - After going through the autopsy process at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu, the body of the wanted list (DPO) of suspected Poso terrorists, Ahmad Gazali alias Ahmad Panjang, was buried and witnessed by his family from South Sulawesi.
Ahmad Panjang, a member of the Poso East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) was buried at the Poboya TPU, Palu, at around 05.00 WITA Wednesday, January 5.
"The body of Ahmad Gazali alias Ahmad Panjang, who was shot during a search operation by the Madago Raya Task Force on Tuesday (4/1) in the Parigi Moutong Regency area, has been buried this morning," said Head of the Madago Raya Operations Public Relations Task Force Kombes Didik Supranoto, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 5th.
"After the autopsy or post-mortem process was carried out, last night's body was immediately washed and shrouded and offered Islamic prayers by the appointed officer," he continued.
The funeral process for the Poso terrorist DPO's body was witnessed by five members of his family who arrived at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu on Wednesday morning.
"After getting approval from the family, the body was immediately buried at the Poboya TPU," he said.
In addition to the family, the funeral procession was also attended by representatives of the Central Sulawesi Police or the Madago Raya Task Force team. "The funeral process is assisted by the community around the TPU location," he said.
Previously, the Madago Raya Task Force in a patrol looking for the rest of the Poso MIT DPO shot Ahmad Gazali alias Ahmad Panjang at the location around the Dolago Padang Dam, South Parigi District, Parigi Moutong District, Central Sulawesi.
After being traced, the task force found Ahmad Panjang dead on Tuesday, January 4.
Supranoto said the Madago Raya Task Force was still looking for and pursuing three DPOs in Poso, Sigi and Parigi Moutong districts.
"We still urge them to surrender, there are three remaining DPOs and we hope that these three DPOs can surrender themselves and be legally processed," he said.
