Sedulur Sandiaga Uno Said, The Success Of The OK OCE Program Made Sandi Eligible To Advance To The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of Sedulur Sandiaga Uno, Mahendra, explained why the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno deserves to be promoted as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"Sandiaga Uno is expected to continue Joko Widodo's leadership because he understands the Indonesian people very well," Mahendra said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 5.

According to him, another reason that makes Sandiaga Uno worthy of progress is because over the past year, the Menparekraf has traveled around Indonesia and visited more than 50 tourist villages to promote and expand the benefits of tourism.

From his visits to these various areas, according to him, Sandi has seen and experienced the struggles of the community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We need to rebuild the economy to be stronger, fairer and more equal," Mahendra said.

Another reason for Sandi, who also ran as a vice presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election, was paired with Prabowo Subianto, he continued, oriented to national economic recovery.

"Through adaptation, innovation, and collaboration that are the steps of Sandiaga Uno's work, the Indonesian economy will soon recover," he said.

According to him, Sandi is focused on supporting Indonesia's digital and creative economy as well as expanding economic opportunities for people to earn additional income online.

The third reason is that Sandi is considered to have a number of new ideas for economic programs that have been proven to be implemented. One of them is through the revitalization of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which directly opens up business opportunities and employment opportunities for the younger generation.

Furthermore, successful digitization of tourist villages creates new business opportunities for the community within the scope of the creative economy.

"The real proof is the OK OCE program which has produced tens of thousands of new entrepreneurs since 2017 and is active in more than 197 communities throughout Indonesia," he said.

Finally, Sandiaga is considered firm and fast in facing challenges. He emphasized that all government efforts should be focused on economic recovery.

This is in line with the thoughts of Sandiaga Uno, who has both a businessman and bureaucratic background. Sandi is considered capable of moving quickly and decisively in solving the challenges facing the nation.
