KSAL Regrets To BP2MI About Alleged Involvement Of Navy Soldiers In Illegal PMI Delivery: Just Mention It, Why Are You Afraid?
JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono regretted the actions of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) which were not open about the alleged involvement of Indonesian Navy soldiers in sending illegal PMIs.
"This is an evaluation for us. All information like that should be given to us so that we can follow up. Now, fellow government officials are not open to each other, this is difficult," said Admiral Yudo after the Commemoration of the 59th Anniversary of Kowal at Headquarters Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Wednesday, January 5, reported by Antara.
Yudo admitted that he had sent three people to request further information from BP2MI regarding the allegation. However, unfortunately the desired clear information was not obtained.
"They said that, we asked, we sent people yesterday, we sent three people. Well, Puspomal, from Dispen, then from Lantamal we checked who the Navy was," he said.
According to him, when announcing the findings, BP2MI should have conveyed the identity of the soldiers suspected of being involved because each unit of the Indonesian Navy has a clear identity.
"Tell me why you should be afraid. There will be no effect, really, in fact I am happy because no soldier has escaped the law. This is a commitment from the TNI Commander, the chief of staff of the force, they are committed to it. So, don't worry. I'm afraid to report it," said Yudo.
He hopes that all investigations by BP2MI can be open and thorough so that there are no misunderstandings between agencies.
"Don't let something like that happen to look for scapegoats, blaming the TNI," said the former Pangkogabwilhan I.
Because it did not get clear information from BP2MI, it carried out an internal investigation.
"Because we couldn't get information from outside, we looked for it ourselves. We have intelligence tools and so on," said Yudo.
During the investigation, he continued, it was found that the house of Indonesian Navy soldiers had been rented out for illegal PMI shelters. However, the soldier didn't know it
"Because this is his negligence, yes, we are currently investigating in Pomal. We will investigate it first. And of course, later, we will be punished. Whether the punishment is criminal or disciplinary, yes, of course from the results of Pomal's examination. No soldier has escaped the law, This must be understood together," said Kasal.
