Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Visits Chairul Tanjung's Mother's Funeral Home

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin visited the funeral home of the former Coordinating Minister for the Economy Chairul Tanjung, Halimah bint Amih.

The Vice President conveyed his condolences to Chairul Tanjung and prayed for the deceased and the bereaved family.

"Hopefully he will be accepted by his deeds of worship", said the Vice President, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 5.

He also said that the deceased had become a mother who succeeded in turning her children into useful people through support and prayers.

"It is never separated from the role of a mother", he said.

Halimah is a native of Cibadak Sukabumi, West Java, who was born on December 30, 1941.

Chairul Tanjung presented the Great Mosque of Trans Studio Bandung to Halimah, symbolically giving the keys to the 4,000-square-meter mosque to Halimah during its inauguration on July 10, 2015.

Also attending the visit were the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar, Chairman of the Press Council and former Minister of Education and Culture M. Nuh, and former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), A.M. Hendropriyono.
