Firli Bahuri Ethics Session Will Be Held Again Next Week
JAKARTA - Member of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Syamsuddin Haris, said the trial of alleged code of conduct violations by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, who boarded a luxury helicopter when he returned home, will be continued next week.
This trial was held again because not all of the witnesses summoned by the KPK Dewas at the ethics hearing were present.
"The ethics trial for Mr. FB will continue Monday, August 31 next week because not all of the witnesses summoned by the KPK are not present," said Haris when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, August 25.
However, Haris did not explain the reason for his absence. He said, of the 6 witnesses who were summoned, only 2 were present. Thus, 4 other witnesses will be summoned again next week.
"Pak FB as a suspect will also be present at the hearing," he said.
Previously, Firli had run an ethics trial against him. The witnesses who attended the trial were the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society Coalition (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman who was also the reporter for the alleged ethical violation.
As examined Firli is suspected of violating the code of ethics and code of conduct for Integrity in Article 4 paragraph 1 letter c or Article 4 paragraph 1 letter n or Article 4 paragraph 2 letter m and / or leadership in Article 8 paragraph 1 letter f KPK Supervisory Board Regulation Number 2 Years 2020.
After being questioned, Firli said that all matters related to the allegations reported by MAKI had been conveyed directly to the KPK Supervisory Board.
"Later, Dewas will convey everything. Sorry, I did not give any information here. I have conveyed all this to Dewas," said Firli as he was leaving the ACLC Building, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 25.
Meanwhile, regarding Boyamin's request to be removed from the position of KPK chairman if he was proven to have violated the code of ethics, Firli refused to comment. "We just follow the law," he said.
