Early Warning Of Heavy Rain In Several Regions Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning forecast for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that could potentially occur in several parts of Indonesia, on Wednesday, January 5.

Information quoted from the BMKG website in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 5, conveyed the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds for the provinces of Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Banten, West Java, East Java, Bali.

Similar conditions have the potential to occur in the provinces of West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, Gorontalo, Papua, West Papua.

According to the BMKG, it was observed in the Natuna Sea and in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sumatra which forms a meeting area or slowing of wind speed (convergence) extending in the Riau Islands, the northern part of West Kalimantan, and the Indian Ocean southwest of Sumatra.

The convergence area is also observed from Aceh to the western waters of Aceh, from the western waters of Bengkulu to South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, from the Makassar Strait to South Sulawesi, from NTB to NTT, North Sulawesi, from North Maluku to Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.

In addition, the confluence of winds is observed in the northern waters of Aceh, the Flores Sea, from the Banda Sea to the Arafuru Sea.

According to BMKG's forecast, this condition can increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation and along with the convergence or confluence area. This was reported by Antara.
