Khofifah: Don't Be Careless Even Though 18 Regions In East Java PPKM Level 1
SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa asked the public not to be careless even though currently 18 local areas are included in the category of Level 1 Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
"Although many are included in the PPKM Level 1 category, we still must not be careless. The discipline of health protocols must still be carried out," he said at the Grahadi State building in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 4.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issues Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 1 of 2022 concerning PPKM Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 COVID-19 in Java and Bali.
For East Java, the level 1 category areas include Tulungagung, Sidoarjo, Pacitan, Ngawi, Surabaya, Mojokerto City, Kediri City, Blitar City, Jombang, Banyuwangi, Tuban, Probolinggo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Lamongan, Pasuruan City, Gresik, and Bojonegoro.
Then, level 2 consists of 16 regencies/cities, namely Trenggalek, Situbondo, Ponorogo, Magetan, Madiun Regency, Lumajang, Probolinggo City, Malang City, Madiun City, Batu City, Kediri Regency, Bondowoso, Blitar Regency, Nganjuk, Malang and Jember Regencies. .
Meanwhile, the level 3 category is implemented in four districts on Madura Island, namely Sumenep, Sampang, Pamekasan and Bangkalan.
Governor Khofifah reminded that the acceleration of vaccination is also an effort to achieve communal immunity as well as control COVID-19.
"Contagion, especially the new Omicron variant, cannot be avoided. So I ask the public not to panic and limit mobility," he said.
Khofifah also hopes that the community can become persuasive agents who can invite local residents to immediately get a dose of the vaccine.
"I beg for people who have not received their vaccine doses, can immediately come to the nearest health service facility," said the former social minister.
"Although in East Java it is relatively under control, we hope there will be no euphoria. For health workers on duty in the field, we must continue to strengthen the implementation of 3T, namely testing, tracing and treatment," he said.
He emphasized that the implementation of the Micro PPKM is the key to successfully controlling the COVID-19 situation in East Java so that the application of restrictions must be carried out strictly.
"We have formed a team like we used to during the second wave (delta variant). The repatriation of PMI is also closely monitored. For those in the Kelurahan, RT and RW areas, please re-enforce their respective Micro PPKM," he said.
