Probolinggo Police Arrest Marijuana Planter On The Slope Of Bromo
PROBOLINGGO - The Probolinggo Police Team, East Java, arrested a number of marijuana dealers and growers on the slopes of Mount Bromo.
"The Sukapura Police Criminal Investigation Unit of the Probolinggo Police has succeeded in apprehending the illicit trafficking network of cannabis-type narcotics in Probolinggo Regency," said Probolinggo Police Chief AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 4.
In the disclosure before the New Year's Eve, officers managed to secure 10 suspects with evidence of dozens of marijuana plants in one of the suspect's warehouses in Wonotoro Village, Sukapura District, Probolinggo Regency.
"17 marijuana plants were planted in polybags, 20 marijuana plants were planted in one bed and four plastic clip packages containing dried marijuana and 3 rolled cigarettes containing dried marijuana," he said.
The suspects in the marijuana-type narcotics case are RB (40), SA (32), RW (26), SU (29), YD (27), SL (21), AD (21), AW (24), HK (36 ) and DB (22) who are residents of Sukapura District.
The police chief explained that the disclosure began with public information regarding the circulation of marijuana-type narcotics ahead of New Year's Eve 2022.
"Then the officers followed up until they managed to find information that the perpetrator was in one of the warehouses belonging to the perpetrator in Wonotoro Village, Sukapura District, Probolinggo Regency," he said.
After conducting an investigation, officers managed to arrest 10 suspects who were the owners of marijuana plants and several plastic packages containing dried marijuana in one of the warehouses belonging to the perpetrators in Wonotoro Village, Sukapura District.
A total of 17 cannabis plants are estimated to be 4 months old and 20 marijuana plants in one bed are estimated to be 2 weeks old. Probolinggo Police will develop the case.
In addition to arresting a narcotics network of marijuana plants, the Probolinggo Police through the Narcotics Investigation Unit also arrested a narcotics network of methamphetamine before the New Year's Eve celebration.
"Officers managed to secure 5 suspects in the shabu distribution network with evidence of six packages of methamphetamine and several suction equipment," he said.
The suspects were charged with Articles 114, 111, 112 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carries a minimum sentence of four years and a maximum prison term of 20 years or life.
