BPBD Records Number Of Refugees Due To Floods In East Aceh Reaches 5,627 People
ACEH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Aceh Regency stated, as many as 5,627 residents in a number of sub-districts in the district were still displaced due to flooding.
"To date, the number of refugees who are still living in emergency tents is 1,318 families with 5,627 people," said the Head of BPBD for East Aceh Regency Ashadi in East Aceh, Antara, Tuesday, January 4.
The distribution of displaced residents includes Bireum Bayeun District 1,623 people from 398 families, Ranto Seulamat District as many as 123 people from 50 families, Ranto Peureulak District as many as 3,039 people from 654 families, and Julok District as many as nine people from two families.
Next, Pante Bidari District with 159 refugees from 47 families, Simpang Jernih District with 15 people from four families.
And Pereulak Barat District as many as 130 people from 20 families, Simpang Ulim District as many as 485 people from 132 families, and Peunarun District as many as 53 people from 13 families.
"Meanwhile, there are 1,315 families with 4,612 people who have been affected by the flood and are staying in their homes," Ashadi said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the East Aceh Social Service, Elfiandi, added that his party had distributed aid to flood victims through the sub-districts to be distributed to refugees. Assistance in the form of clothing, blankets, and food and mineral water.
"We have handed over food and water assistance as well as clothing and other necessities to the sub-district to be distributed to people who have fled," said Elfiandi.
