Surrounded By Floods, Residents In Four Districts Of East Aceh Are Isolated
ACEH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province said residents in four sub-districts in the area were isolated due to flooding.
"The worst flooding currently occurs in four sub-districts. As a result, transportation flows are paralyzed and residents in a number of villages in the area are isolated," said the Head of BPBD for East Aceh Regency, Ashadi in East Aceh, as reported by Antara, Tuesday. January 4th.
He said residents in the four sub-districts, namely Pante Bidari District covering Sah Raja Village and Sijudo Village, Pereulak District covering Cek Mbon Village, Ranto Peureulak District covering Seumanah Jaya Village, and Bireum Bayeun District covering Bukit Seulumak Village.
"Connecting access to villages in the four sub-districts is completely paralyzed, so that people in those areas are forced to wade through the river as an alternative route," said Ashadi. He said the flood heights in the area ranged from 20 to 80 centimeters. Floods not only commemorate residential areas, but also roads.
Even so, said Ashadi, residents remained in their respective homes. However, there were also some residents who fled to higher ground, such as relatives' houses and meunasah.
"Aid for the panic period has been distributed. Until now, the BPBD team is still collecting data on flood-affected communities. We also remind people to be wary of aftershocks," he said.
