COVID-19 Update As Of January 4th: 299 New Cases, Most Are In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 307,627 specimens were examined with the result that there were 299 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,263,732 and active cases are 4,658", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Tuesday, January 4.
Today's recovered cases increased by 168 cases, bringing the total to 4,114,969 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 3 people and the total was 144,105 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 115 cases and a total of 865,805 cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with 51 new cases with a total of 54,361 cases. West Java has 32 new cases and a total of 708,923 cases. Then, East Java with 17 new cases and a total of 400,116 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 42 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 24 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 23 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 18 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 64,137,224.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.12 percent", it wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,700 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
So far, 166.653,867 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 114,565,936 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 1,295,326. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
