Visiting The Flood Banding Location In North Sumatra's Palas, Social Minister Risma Handing Over Rp762 Million Aid
SUMUT - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini inspected the location of the flash flood that hit five villages in Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra, Monday, January 3, evening.
Social Minister Tri Rismaharini accompanied by Acting Regent of Palas Ahmad Zarnawi Pasaribu, together with Palas Police Chief AKBP Indra Yanitra Irawan and Regional Secretary Arpan Nasution and their entourage inspected the location of the public elementary school and houses damaged by the flash flood in Tamiang village.
Next, he visited the victims of the flash flood, at the Babul Hasanah Islamic Boarding School Refugee Post, Manggis Village. In addition, the Minister of Social Affairs also reviewed the evacuation posts and the post of natural disaster management officers in Tanjung Baru Village and saw the condition of the readiness of public kitchen facilities for the victims of the natural disaster.
While reviewing the location of the flood, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini symbolically handed over logistical assistance for the handling of victims of the flash flood disaster in Palas worth Rp.762,115,403.
Responding to the aspirations of the victims of flash floods related to housing and other needs, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini said that his party would wait for the results of the mutual agreement, starting at the village level, sub-district government and Forkopimda Palas to handle the fulfillment of the aspirations of flash flood victims who need the house.
"We'll discuss it together, because we can't make a decision now. If suddenly there will be rain, is the location suitable or not. I asked Forkopimda to meet and consult with experts from universities on the feasibility of the location. The problem is actually dangerous, let alone causing casualties. That cannot happen, for that Forkopimda will be negotiated according to what I asked earlier, whether it will be relocation or what because it must be seen from the feasibility," he said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 4.
Risma said it should not happen like it happened somewhere, given and finished, it turned out that all the houses were destroyed by landslides. Meanwhile, Acting Regent of Palas Ahmad Zarnawi Pasaribu thanked Social Minister Tri Rismaharini and her entourage for their visit to the flash flood location as well as providing logistical assistance. .
Through these activities, Zarnawi hopes that the friendship and synergy between his party and the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia will improve in the future.

Flash floods hit five villages in Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra, namely Tamiang Village, Tanjung Barani, Tanjung Baru, Manggis and Siadam Village, Batang Lubu Sutam District.
