Luke Shaw Says After Manchester United Beat Wolves 1-0: Sometimes Quality Is Not Enough

JAKARTA - Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has questioned the cohesiveness and commitment of Ralf Rangnick's squad after they lost 1-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.

"We have to put more pressure on them, we have to have intensity. We're players, we've been here a long time, maybe tonight we were overwhelmed, I don't think we all got along," Shaw told Sky Sports as quoted by Antara, Tuesday.

"You look at the players we have, we have great quality but sometimes quality is not enough."

Joao Moutinho's goal in the 82nd minute gave the win for Wolves who had several good chances to win the game in the first half of the match.

"It wasn't good enough, we were overwhelmed, we couldn't carry the ball and when we didn't get the ball we weren't aggressive enough. We couldn't put pressure on them," said the England centre-back.

"Maybe it looked like an easy game for them. Disappointing performance and result. We didn't have many options with the ball.

"We have to have more intensity and motivation. Inside the dressing room, we know what we want but on the pitch we have to give 100 per cent. To win a game like this we all need to be 100 per cent committed. It is tough and disappointing," he said.

With no more games scheduled before the FA Cup on January 10 against Aston Villa, Shaw hopes training with Rangnick at Carrington will make a difference.

"We have now had time to refocus, we have had a long training week and maybe the manager can give some ideas about what he wants on the pitch."
