Georginio Wijnaldum Can Close The Hole Left By Thomas Partey At Arsenal

JAKARTA - Arsenal are missing Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny this month for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, but the Premier League club will see the arrival of Georginio Wijnaldum who can close the hole left by Partey.

Citing Antara, Tuesday, January 4, Arsenal will make additions to their lean midfield thanks to the Africa Cup of Nations being held this month by borrowing Wijnaldum from PSG.

The former Liverpool star does not feel at home with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and will seek the opportunity to be loaned out by the French capital club. And this news immediately pounced on the Gunners.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will this month lose Thomas Partey who was man of the match against Manchester City. Not only that, The Gunner will also lose Partey's partner in central midfielder, Mohamed Elneny.

Both will defend their respective countries in the Africa Cup of Nations. Partey defended Ghana, while Elneny strengthened Egypt.

Arsenal also got additional strength from other loan players, namely Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Roma and Albert Sambi Lokonga who was still very inexperienced.

Arsenal need to bring in at least one midfielder before facing Tottenham on January 16.

Wijnaldum fits Arsenal's style of play. The Dutchman has anchored Liverpool in midfield by showing technical ability, strength and intelligence.

Wijnaldum was one of the key players for the Reds both in winning the Champions League and Premier League.

The Gunners can still sign Ben White or Calum Chambers. White is Brighton's midfielder, while Chambers is Fulham's best player this season.
