Gibran Responds To The Appearance Of A 'Safe Vacation? Just Go To Solo' In Yogyakarta When Klitih Is In The Spotlight
SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the appearance of a Solo tourism promotion billboard in the middle of Yogyakarta City which was trending on Twitter some time ago.
On the billboard, it says "Safe Vacation? Go to Solo Only". Regarding this, Gibran confirmed that Solo is safe for tourists to visit.
"Not because there was a klitih (street crime) and I installed it," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 3.
However, Gibran ensures that he will not stop promoting Solo as a safe tourism.
"The main thing is promotion out of town, to social media (social media)," he said.
Previously, related to tourism promotion, some time ago his party had collaborated with the Yogyakarta City Government.
"Follow up there are several events that are held together. Yesterday I also proposed branding at the station, because our KRL (Solo-Yogyakarta) is very busy. I have also told the mayor (Yogyakarta Mayor)," he said.
In addition, his party also conducts cross-promotion by utilizing the existing infrastructure.
"At the Yogyakarta station promoting tourist destinations in Solo, as well as at Solobalapan Station there is also about Jogja tourism," he said.
Meanwhile, the Solo Jogja Great Sale plan, he said, would be discussed again in the near future.
"We haven't discussed that, which will be a marathon in the near future. After that, the Solo Jogja Great Sale includes packages that were prepared by the two of them (Surakarta City Government and Yogyakarta City Government)," he said.
Previously, the billboard photo was uploaded to the Twitter account @sinemasisifus on December 31, 2021 at around 14.30 WIB. The account also wrote the caption "Jogja: klitih emergency, Jogja is not safe. Solo: *installs billboards in Jogja*".
As of Monday, January 3, the billboard photo has been liked by more than 31,600 Twitter account users and retweeted by 6,189 Twitter users.
