KPK Claims Corruption Of Assets Confiscation In 2021 Increases To IDR 80 Billion
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the amount of money deposited into the state treasury from the results of asset recovery will increase in 2021. In fact, the claim for deposited money has increased by 27 percent or Rp. 80 billion.
"The amount of KPK's asset recovery in 2021 will increase if we compare it with the previous year's achievement, which was IDR 80 billion or 27 percent," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, January 3.
Ali detailed that in 2014 the amount of looted assets deposited reached Rp107 billion; 2015 KPK handed over Rp193 billion; 2016 handed over Rp335 billion; 2017 handed over Rp342 billion.
Furthermore, in 2018 the KPK handed over Rp600 billion; 2019 handed over Rp468 billion; 2020 KPK handed over 2020 IDR 294 billion; and 2021 the KPK will hand over Rp374 billion to the state.
"KPK is noted to have consistently optimized asset recovery through an approach to enforcement strategies," he said.
Ali said the recovery of asset losses is important to do. Moreover, corruption which is an extraordinary crime often causes losses and has a bad impact on society.
"Therefore, efforts to enforce the law must really provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrators so that similar crimes do not happen again and become a lesson for the public," he said.
"KPK through the task of investigating, investigating, prosecuting, and executing decisions, always prioritizes optimizing the recovery of state financial losses through the confiscation of assets resulting from criminal acts of corruption or asset recovery," he concluded.
