Thamrin Clock Monument Has Been Moved, There Is A Narrowing Of The Vehicle Lane At Night
JAKARTA - The process of moving the cultural heritage of the Thamrin Jam Monument in the MRT project continues to segment 3. The third segment relocation is carried out at the removal of the lower part of the Thamrin Jam Monument in the fourth week of January.
In the process of moving, the Department of Transportation and Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya carried out traffic engineering by narrowing the lane at night.
Head of the Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendi Alhial said the narrowing of the vehicle lane by leaving 1 vehicle lane for each lane at the intersection of Jalan MH Thamrin-Jalan Kebon Sirih in an east-west direction towards Tanah Abang and Gondangdia.
"Traffic engineering at this stage is only applied from 22.00 WIB to 05.00 WIB, while at 05.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB, traffic conditions will continue as usual," Rendi said in his statement, Monday, January 3.
Rendhi said that his party together with the Shimizu-Adhi Karya Joint Venture (SAJV) as the implementing contractor always ensure that the comfort and safety of road users is maintained during the construction process by installing traffic signs, road markings and public street lighting (PJU).
“MRT Jakarta apologizes for the inconvenience caused during this work. We hope for understanding and cooperation from the community to continue to support the implementation of this project," said Rendi.
It is known, the process of moving the Thamrin Clock Monument has started since last November 2021. MRT has moved the first segment which is the top of the clock monument segment-2 which is the middle part of the clock monument to a temporary storage location in the Monas park area.
