Djoko Tjandra's Examination Regarding the Nominal of Bribery for the Red Notice Removal
JAKARTA - Djoko Tjandra has finished the examination as a witness in the alleged corruption case of the red notice removal. During the investigation, Djoko Tjandra was questioned by the police about the flow of funds to Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo.
"Regarding the question of the flow of funds, JST's brother (Joko Soegiarto Tjandra) bribed the suspects. So, investigators are examining to catch up when, where, to whom that he gave this money," said Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) Division, National Police Public Relations Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, Monday, August 24.
The investigation was also related to the nominal money given by Djoko Tjandra to the two Police Generals. During the examination for about 7 hours, Djoko Tjandra was asked 55 questions by the investigators.
"From the results of the examination, we cannot convey the whole thing. Especially regarding the nominal value, because we are still in the process. And the person concerned has admitted that he had given a certain amount of money to the suspects," said Awi.
In this case, the police have named four people as suspects. They are Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo. The police suspected that they are the recipients of bribes for red notice removal.
Both of them are subject to Article 5 Paragraph 2, Article 11, and Article 12 letters a and b of Law Number 20 the Year 2020 regarding Corruption Crime (Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
The other two people are bribe givers. They are Djoko Tjandra and Tommy Sumardi. They are subject under Article 5 Paragraph 1, Article 13 of Law 20/2020 concerning Corruption (Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
In the bribery case, investigators confiscated USD 20 thousand, cellphones, including CCTV, as evidence.
