Two Patrol Boats For Maritime Crimes Belonging To The Banten Police, Save The State Losses Worth Rp. 8 Billion
SERANG – During 2021, the Banten Police's Ditpolairud managed to uncover a number of marine crimes with state losses that were saved as much as Rp. 8,895.5 million.
Dirpolairud Polda Banten Kombes Pol Gieuseppe Reinhard Gultom said that Ditpolairud Polda Banten in 2021 had completed 4 criminal cases that were successfully uncovered, "Of the 4 cases that were revealed, the Polda Banten succeeded in completing 5 cases securing the number of suspects 15 people with 150% crime clearance compared to last year. 2020, there are 2 settlements, up to 3 cases," said Gultom, through an official statement received, Monday, December 3.
Gultom explained that the cases of water crime that were successfully uncovered included baby lobsters (fry).
"We succeeded in uncovering the case of baby lobster (fry) with a total of 30,782 fry of the pearl lobster and sand lobster species and saved the state's money as much as Rp. 8,895.5 million," said Gultom.
Gultom explained, to support the disclosure of water crime cases, his party has modernized the equipment.
"In 2021, the Banten Police Ditpolairud will modernize the Water Police with the addition of 2 ships sourced from the 2020 State Budget," said Gultom.
Furthermore, Gultom said the addition of the 2 ships added to the number of ships owned by the Banten Police Ditpolairud.
"We have ships, namely Offshore Patrol Vessels with a length of 15 meters. Offshore Patrol Vessels with a length of 13.40 meters, and 1 unit of Fast Hunting Vessels, and have special tools namely Hybrid Detection System, 2D Underwater Detection Equipment, Tactical Equipment, and maritime law enforcement support equipment," said Gultom.
Gultom hopes that with the modernization of equipment and the addition of these ships, services to the community in the Banten waters will increase, and the presence of these ships can anticipate possible crimes at sea.
"Hopefully this ship can create a conducive and safe Banten sea area, as well as anticipate the threats and disturbances of public order and security in Banten waters," concluded Gultom.
