East Java Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Collaborates With TNI-Polri In Search Of Rudenim Residents Who Ran Away
SURABAYA - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of East Java (East Java) cooperated with the TNI and Polri to find a detainee (foreign resident of the detention center) from Palestine at the Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) Surabaya in Raci, Pasuruan, who had fled.
The Head of Immigration Division of the East Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jaya Saputra, confirmed the escape of a detainee.
"It is true, there has been an escape from the detainee with the initials MDH on Sunday, around 12.00 WIB this afternoon," Jaya said in a written statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 2, 2022.
He explained the chronology of the escape of the detainee with the initials MDH began when the officers were about to lock the residential block. According to the existing SOP, officers control each block and officers are in the aisle of the detention block.
"Initially the situation was conducive and safe," he said.
However, he said, moments later, the Palestinian detainee grabbed a clothesline and suddenly ran out of the block and tried to take the officer's motorbike. During the fight for the motorbike, a fight broke out between the MDH detainees and the officers.
"When the fight broke out, the MDH detainees managed to run to the front door," Jaya continued.
Shortly after arriving at the front of the police station, the MDH detainees damaged the car key storage area. He then took the car in the garage.
The 41-year-old detainee fled by ramming the car multiple times into the gate. "Currently we have coordinated with the police and the TNI for the search," Jaya said.
He expects information from the public if he sees the car that the MDH detainees took away, namely a black Orlando Chevrolet with police number N 1030 SP (red plate).
"We open the door as wide as possible if there is information from the public," he said.
