Jae And JYP Entertainment's Different Statements About DAY6's Exit
JAKARTA - Jae announced that he has officially left the band DAY6 and the agency that has supported them since their debut, JYP Entertainment.
Saturday, January 1, JYP Entertainment released a statement containing the official announcement hours after Jae shared the news with fans. Jae stated that he would be taking a short break from the band.
"First, we apologize for causing concern with this news to My Day, who shows support for DAY6," JYP Entertainment said in a statement.
“Jae, who was a member of DAY6 until now, left the team as of December 31, 2021, and his contract expired. We communicated with Jae for a long time and following the results of the discussions, we respected the artist's opinion and terminated the exclusive contract."
Concluding his statement, JYP Entertainment will support Jae's career wherever he is.
We promise to fulfill efforts for DAY6's activities and we ask for My Day's love and support. Thank you," concluded JYP Entertainment.
The man born September 15 joined DAY6 in September 2015. Jae became the second person to leave the band after Junhyeok in 2016.
In 2020, JYP Entertainment stated that Jae would be taking a break from DAY6 promotions due to his mental health.
Apart from his career with DAY6, Jae also marked his solo career with eaJ. He released several solo tracks such as Pacman, It Just Is, and Pillows. Jae also duets with a line of musicians namely DPR Live, Seori, and keshi.
Jae also became a presenter for several events ranging from After School Club to How Did I Get Here? from Dive Studios.
