DPD Chairman LaNyalla Supports Rizieq Shihab As Man Of The Year 2021, Ferdinand Hutahean: Leaders Of State Institutions Don't Understand?

JAKARTA - Former Democratic Party politician, Ferdinand Hutahaean criticized the attitude of DPD RI Chairman AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti who supported the coronation of former frontman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Rizieq Shihab as Man of the Year 2021.

Ferdinand thought that LaNyalla as the head of a state institution did not understand that an FPI figure like Rizieq should be on the list of people to watch out for. Moreover, FPI and Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) were dissolved because they were not in accordance with the 1945 Constitution.

This was conveyed through his Twitter account @FerdinanHaean3 on Sunday, January 2. At that time, he commented on the news that said La Nyalla supported Rizieq's coronation as Man of the Year 2021.

"In the name of the State Law, FPI and HTI were disbanded because they were not in accordance with the 1945 Constitution, Pancasila and other related regulations. So FPI HTI figures should indirectly be on the list of people to watch out for," Ferdinand wrote in his tweet.

"But La Nyalla, a leader of a state institution, doesn't understand this?" he added.

Previously, LaNyalla signed the Man of The Year 2021 support plaque to Rizieq Shihab. This support plaque was initiated by the People Caring for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta.

Not only LaNyalla, four other figures also signed the endorsement, namely constitutional law expert Refly Harun, former commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission Natalius Pigai, Rocky Gerung, and former coordinating minister Rizal Ramli.

He said, as Chairman of the DPD RI, he was obliged to protect all levels of society. Moreover, the institutions he leads are regional representatives and non-partisan groups.

In addition, LaNyalla was also raised from the Pancasila Youth organization which is used to protecting all levels. So, he finally gave this support to Rizieq Shihab.

"I grew up in the Pancasila Youth Ormas. Let alone the figure of Habib or religious leaders, we just embrace street thugs and invite us to organize," LaNyalla said in a written message on Friday, December 31.
