Governor Of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi Shows Off North Sumatra's Rank One Of The Highest Poverty Reductions In Indonesia

MEDAN - North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi exhibited North Sumatra's achievements in the economic field. North Sumatra ranks one of the highest poverty reduction rates in Indonesia.

"Our various efforts to improve the economy in North Sumatra have finally resulted in proud achievements. Alhamdulillah, at the end of 2021 yesterday, North Sumatra managed to rank 1 area with the highest poverty reduction in Indonesia with a score of 3 points based on the results of Research and Development data from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri)," said Gubsu Edy.

According to Gubsu Edy, this data is in line with BPS data in August 2021 which has also released data on reducing poverty in North Sumatra which statistically managed to decrease by 0.13 points, from 9.14 percent in September 2020 to 9.01 percent in March 2021. .

This poverty rate is equivalent to 1.34 million people in March 2021, or a decrease of around 13,000 people in the last semester.

In addition, in the third quarter of 2021, the North Sumatran economy increased by 3.67 percent (yoy), exceeding the national economic growth of 3.51 percent. Budget absorption in North Sumatra is also the 3rd best in all of Indonesia, which is 72.9 percent ahead of the closing in 2021.

"This achievement cannot be separated from the support and prayers of all North Sumatran residents, especially in supporting the implementation of development programs in North Sumatra. Hopefully, in 2022, our economic growth can be much better and the poverty rate can be further reduced, so that in the future North Sumatra will be more advanced and prosperous, "said Gubsu Edy.
