The Best Young Player Of The 2020 AFF Cup To Pratama Arhan Is A Consolation For The National Team

JAKARTA - A brilliant achievement was achieved by Pratama Arhan in the 2020 AFF cup competition. Although the national team failed to bring a winning trophy, Arhan managed to win the title as the best young player in the prestigious competition in Southeast Asia.

The moment of embedding Arhan as the best player was shared by AFF through their Instagram account. In the upload, Saturday 1 January they showed a photo of Arhan lifting the trophy.

"The award for the #NXGN goal for young players in this competition goes to (Indonesian flag) Pratama Arhan," wrote the @affsuzukicup account.

Furthermore, the award was presented by the GOAL NXGN Award based on the editorial team's assessment and combined with the voting results.

Launching from the official AFF website, the GOAL NXGN team has indeed awarded several names of young players who are considered the best and have the potential throughout the 2020 AFF Cup competition.

From several names, a vote was then made to determine the winner. Through the voting results, Pratama Arhan came out as the winner with a total collection of 60,122 votes, that number beat two teammates namely Witan Sulaeman and Alfeandra Dewangga who were in second and third positions.

Successfully winning the title as the best young player in the 2020 AFF Cup, Arhan also successfully overtook his arch-rival which is Thailand's retainer, Thanawat Suengchitthawon who finished fourth. While in fifth position is occupied by Cambodian player, Sieng Chanthea.

The AFF chose Arhan as the best young player based on his good performance on the field while competing in the 2020 AFF Cup. The PSIS Semarang player is considered to be a threat to every opponent, especially if he is already in the opponent's half of the field.

Arhan is also considered to be stealing attention, based on recorded statistics. So far he has scored 80 per cent of tackles, and has completed 76 per cent of the 178 passes he made during the tournament.

Pratama Arhan also became a gang player, trusted by Shin Tae-yong, the national team coach as a starter in six matches out of a total of eight matches for the Indonesian national team in the 2020 AFF Cup.

Finally, AFF also emphasized that although Arhan has not been able to lead the national team to qualify as champions, this 20-year-old player has proven himself capable of being part of the national team's youth team to be reckoned with. Arhan is also considered to be a very promising player and can be confident to challenge for the title in the years to come.
