First Sunday In 2022, Beware Of Rain And Strong Wind

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in parts of Indonesia, Sunday.

From the wind pattern, there is also a convergence that triggers the meeting and slowing of the wind in southern Sumatra, the Makassar Strait, eastern Java, Bali, NTB, and the Flores Sea.

This situation causes a significant addition of wet air mass in the region.

The situation in several provincial capitals today, Sunday, January 2, 2022, was marked by sunny cloudy weather to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

For the Sumatra area, the potential for cloudy weather is in the Padang area, light rain is in Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung. The potential for moderate rain is in the Medan, Tanjungpinang, Bengkulu area.

The potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning is predicted in the Banda Aceh region.
