Throughout 2021, 209 Prosecutors' Personnel Sentenced To Disciplinary Sentences

JAKARTA - RI Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said his party was increasing accountable and transparent internal control by taking action against prosecutors' personnel who were proven to have committed disciplinary violations.

In a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, January 1, Burhanuddin said that of the 209 employees who were sentenced to disciplinary punishment, 44 were light sentences, 97 were moderately punished, and 68 employees were severely punished.

"The type of severe punishment is 68 employees with various kinds of disciplinary punishments," said Burhanuddin.

As for the types of severe punishment, such as, demotion to a lower level, transfer in the context of demotion, release from the functional position of a prosecutor, release from structural positions, dishonorable discharge not on one's own orders, dishonorable discharge as a civil servant.

Of these types of punishment, 24 people were dishonorably dismissed as civil servants, 11 people were demoted, 10 people were released from functional prosecutor positions, 10 were released from structural positions, nine people were dishonorably dismissed at their own request, and four people were transferred. in the context of demotion to a lower level.

Burhanuddin said that in 2021 his party had issued seven priority work programs for the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, one of which was supervision and enforcement of discipline to create a clean and professional Prosecutor's Office.

One of the realization of the seven priority programs of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office is the formation of Task Force 53 in order to uphold the integrity of the Attorney General's Office. And, during 2021, Task Force 53 of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office has received 24 reports of complaints.

"With the results of the examination, seven reports were proven, seven reports were not proven, and eight reports are still in the process of being investigated," said Burhanuddin.

On December 21, 2021, Task Force 53 of the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office has arrested an individual Prosecutor at the East Nusa Tenggara Prosecutors' Office, with the initials KM, who is suspected of having committed a disgraceful act. Previously, in October, the Prosecutor in Mojokerto was also secured by the Task Force 53 formed by the Attorney General.
