One Resident Experienced Burns Due To Fire In Warakas Jakut

JAKARTA - The fire incident that hit a residential area on Jalan Warakas 4 Gang 18, RT 14/13, Warakas Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, resulted in one resident being burned.

Jakarta Damkar Public Relations Officer Mulat said the fire was triggered by an alleged electrical short circuit.

"The cause was an electric short circuit that grabbed flammable materials. One person suffered burns," Mulat told reporters on Saturday, January 1.

The fire was successfully extinguished with the deployment of 15 fire engines operated by 78 firefighters.

"The area burned is about 150 square meters. As a result of the fire, the total loss is estimated at Rp 500 million," he said.

As is known, a number of houses belonging to residents who were burned consisted of 14 heads of families with 42 people. Meanwhile, the fire case is still under investigation by the DKI Jakarta Fire Service.
