This figure decreased by 1,167 cases or 28.38% when compared to the crimes reported in 2020, which were 4,111 cases," said Banten Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Dr. Rudy Heriyanto, based on the release received, Saturday 1 January.

In addition, Rudy explained, the percentage of case settlement or crime rate in 2021 also increased by 6.18% from 66.13% to 72.31%.

"I appreciate the performance of personnel who have succeeded in reducing the crime rate in 2021 while increasing the percentage of case settlements," said Rudy.

Street crimes such as stealing, stealing and stealing also experienced a decline in 2021. There were 1,643 street crime cases in 2020, but managed to reduce to 1,590 cases in 2021.

"Although the decrease is only 3.22% or 53 cases, we are grateful for the participation of the community who are jointly protecting their property so that they do not become victims of street crimes," he added.

The decline in the general crime rate also occurred in cases involving women and children.

"From 343 cases reported in 2020 to 323 cases in 2021, there was a decrease of 20 cases or 5.83% compared to 2020, this is an achievement of good performance in 2021," said Shinto.

The Banten Regional Police Chief pays great attention to cases of general crime, especially those committed by groups of street thugs who carry sharp weapons when carrying out actions on the streets and looking for random victims.
