Two Of The 14 Suspected Child Rapists In Nagan Raya Aceh Have Been Handed Over By Prosecutors
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Nagan Raya Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit handed over two suspects for raping a minor to the local state prosecutor's office, after the filing of the two was completed.
"The two suspects that we handed over after the second file was declared complete (P-21) by the public prosecutor," said Nagan Raya Police Chief AKBP Setiyawan Eko Prasetiya represented by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Machfud quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, January 1.
The two suspects who were handed over, respectively, had the initials JA (17 years) and MR (17 years). While the evidence that was also submitted included one white bra with a ball motif, one sheet of sarong, one sheet of white hijab, 1 sheet of black thin jacket, and 1 sheet of black shorts.
AKP Machfud explained that the two rape suspects who were handed over to the Nagan Raya Aceh District Attorney's Office were part of 14 suspected perpetrators of raping a minor that the police had uncovered a few weeks ago.
In this case, the two suspects were charged with Article 48 Juncto Article 50 Juncto Article 6 paragraph (1) Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law, and in conjunction with Indonesian Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.
AKP Machfud also emphasized that his party would continue to process a number of other rape suspects who are currently being held at the Nagan Raya Aceh Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings, he said.
