Riau Siak Police Fires 1 Member, Police Chief Gunar Rahardianto: Discipline And Criminal Violations
RIAU - The Siak Police Chief, Riau Province, AKBP Gunar Rahardianto revealed, in 2021 there will be one personnel in his unit area who has been dishonorably discharged (PDTH) alias fired and three others will soon follow for committing violations.
"The PDTH member for 2021, which we have held the ceremony for, is one person, this is because there are many problems with disciplinary and criminal violations," said Gunar in Siak, as quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 1.
In addition, he continued, three more police officers would be fired. This decision is made through a code of ethics trial. For the dismissal ceremony, his party is still waiting for a decision letter from the Riau Police Chief.
According to Gunar, the average member's problems are related to the abuse of narcotics and illegal drugs.
"We have committed to no mercy for members who have problems with drugs. We will take firm action," he said.
"Please remind us to be better in order to create security and order in the community and improve the quality of service, of course, better than before," he said.
Siak Police noted that the crime rate in its area in 2021 decreased compared to 2020, which was 20 percent from 478 cases to 382 cases. Of all the cases in 2021, there was also an increase in the percentage of case settlements compared to before.
