Strong Wind Damages Pamekasan Residents' Houses In 3 Districts
PAMEKASAN - Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds damaged the houses of residents of Pamekasan, East Java, in three sub-districts, namely Larangan, Kadur and some in Galis.
"Currently our team is still collecting data on the actual number of damaged buildings, due to the heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, almost happened in all sub-districts," said the Coordinator of the Rapid Response Team (TRC) of the Pamekasan Regency Government's Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Budi Cahyono, quoted by Antara. , Friday, December 31.
Temporary data on damage to buildings due to high winds accompanied by heavy rains totaled five buildings, namely three units in Kadur District, one unit of Prohibition and one unit in Galis District.
The average damage to the roof was caused by strong winds and falling trees.
In addition to damaging buildings, heavy rain and strong winds that occurred in Pamekasan caused the electricity supply in several sub-districts to be cut off due to falling trees.
"We have coordinated with PLN Pamekasan officers and currently officers are in the field. Some have been repaired, and some have not," he said.
Based on the forecasts of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), bad weather in the form of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds still has the potential to occur in Pamekasan Regency for the next week.
Therefore, he appealed to people living in disaster-prone areas to increase their vigilance.
"We ask people who have tall trees around their yards to cut them down, to avoid things that are not desirable," he explained.
Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and damage to residents' buildings in three sub-districts this time was the second time in December 2021.
A similar disaster also occurred on December 8, 2021. At that time as many as 250 buildings consisting of houses, schools, prayer rooms and kitchens of residents in Pademawu and Tlanakan Districts, Pamekasan were damaged by heavy rains accompanied by strong winds.
